Conversation between Monia Ben Hamouda and Francesco Urbano Ragazzi
In the context of the 2024 MAXXI BVLGARI Prize for Italian Art, Italian-Tunisian artist Monia Ben Hamouda (born in Milan, 1991) engages in a dialogue with the curatorial duo Francesco Urbano Ragazzi, who nominated her for the competition. The conversation will be moderated by Giulia Ferracci, curator of the Prize.
Titled Analisi, distruzione e rinnovamento (Analysis, Destruction, and Renewal), the discussion will explore the principles that informed the creation of Theology of Collapse (The Myth of Past), the artwork currently on display in the Gian Ferrari gallery of the museum. It will also place the artist’s international career in perspective, highlighting her role within the Italian art scene.
